Airbus A300-600R - EgyptAir
EgyptAir is the national airline of Egypt and was and is an operator of a wide range of widebody aircraft types. The airline was formed in 1932 as Misr Airwork and started flying in June 1933. In 1949 the name was changed to Misrair and in 1960 yet another name was chosen: United Arab Airlines (UAA). In 1971 the current name was adopted.
The first widebody type in EgyptAir's fleet was the Airbus A300, of which the first one entered service with the airline in 1977. The airline acquired a total of twenty of the A300B4 and A300-600R versions. A small number is still in operation, including an A300B4 freighter. Other widebodies in EgyptAir service were or are the Boeing 747, 767 and 777, the Airbus A330 and A340 and, for short periods, the Lockheed TriStar.
The photographs both show EgyptAir Airbus A300-600Rs approaching London Heathrow Airport. The aircraft on the picture below shows the latest livery of the airline.
