Airbus A330-300 - Brussels Airlines
The Belgian airline Brussels Airlines has only one widebody aircraft type in its fleet, the Airbus A330-300. Brussels Airlines is the result of a merger in 2007 between SN Brussels Airlines and Virgin Express, which were both based at Brussels Nationaal (Zaventem) Airport. SN Brussels was formed from the regional carrier DAT (Delta Air Transport) after the collapse of the Belgian national air carrier Sabena in 2001. In 2008 Lufthansa became a major stakeholder in Brussels Airlines.
The Brussels Airlines A330s are mainly used on services to Africa, which is a specialism of the airline. The aircraft on the photograph is approaching its homebase Brussels.
