Airbus A340 - LAN
LAN was founded in 1929 as a Chilean airline. The airline was privatised in 1989 and took over Chile's second airline Ladeco in 1995. LAN started taking over airlines in other Latin-American countries as well and baptised them LAN Dominicana, LAN Peru, LAN Ecuador etc.
In 2004 all these airlines were unified under a common 'LAN Airlines' brand and a new livery was adopted for the whole group. This livery is shown on the picture above. On the picture below is an Airbus A340-300 in the old LAN Chile livery.
LAN has ordered a total of six A340-300s. The first four of these aircraft were delivered in July 2004.
