Boeing 767-400 - Continental Airlines

Continental Airlines is one of only two airlines that ordered the Boeing 767-400, the longest version of the 767. The other airline is Delta Air Lines. Boeing delivered sixteen 767-400ERs to Continental, plus ten 767-200ERs.

Continental is a major US airline which began life in 1934 as Varney Speed Lines. The name Continental Airlines was introduced in 1937. Early widebody airliners in Continental service were the Boeing 747, the DC-10 and the A300. Today's widebody types in the fleet are the Boeing 767-200, 767-400 and 777-200. The 767-200 was ordered in 1998 and meant a restart of the production of this earliest 767 model. Boeing delivered the 767-200s in 2000 and 2001.

The long-body 767-400s were delivered to Continental in 2000 to 2002. The 767-400 on the picture is seen while landing at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
