Ilyushin Il-96 - Aeroflot
Since April 2002 the Ilyushin Il-86 is banned from airports in the European Union because of noise regulations introduced in 2002. The Il-96-300 is less noisy than its older sister plane and is still operated by Aeroflot on dense routes to Western Europe.
Aeroflot has ordered a total of twelve Il-96s. The aircraft on the picture above, taken at Brussels Nationaal (Zaventem) Airport, wears the newest Aeroflot livery. The aircraft in the old colours on the picture below is approaching London Heathrow.
