Lockheed L-1011 TriStar - TWA
TWA, Trans World Airlines, was a main Lockheed TriStar operator. It introduced the TriStar in 1972 and flew it on domestic flights as well as transatlantic services to Europe. TWA was the second biggest TriStar operator after Delta Air Lines and flew a total of 38 aircraft of several standard-body versions (-1, -50, -100, -200). TWA didn't fly the shortbody L1011-500.
In 1996 the type was retired from the fleet after a large reorganisation. The aircraft on the picture is seen while approaching Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
