McDonnell Douglas MD-11 - Delta Air Lines
Delta Air Lines was among the first operators of the MD-11 and flew seventeen of them during the nineties. The first MD-11s were delivered in 1990 and the type was phased out during the years 2003 through 2007, being replaced by the Boeing 777.
All ex-Delta MD-11s are now active as cargo aircraft, mainly with Federal Express and also World Airways. The Delta aircraft on the pictures are approaching Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The photograph below shows an aircraft in a later livery.
