Lufthansa is one of the biggest airlines in Europe and its fleet includes a large number of widebody airliners, both from Boeing and Airbus. It has ordered a total of 45 Airbus A350-900s, of which about one third is part of the fleet in 2021. Airbus delivered the first aircraft to Lufthansa in December 2016. D-AIXJ was handed over to the airline in June 2018.
