Boeing 767-300 (767-3J6) - Air China - B-2558 (MSN 25876) - Beijing Capital Airport (PEK) - March 2007.

Air China, China's flag carrier, was formed after the Chinese government decided to split up the operating divisions of the Civil Aviation Administration of China into six separate airlines, in 1987. One of the six was Air China, which became primarily responsible for intercontinental flights to and from China. For this pupose, it took over the CAAC's long haul fleet, including widebody Boeing 747s and 767s. Later, Air China merged with China Southwest Airlines, China National Aviation Holding and China Southwest Airlines, and became a big player on China's domestic market as well. Air China's main base is Beijing Capital Airport.

The current Air China fleet comprises several widebody aircraft types, including the Airbus A330 and A350, plus the Boeing 747, 777 and 787. The 767 is not in service with the airline any more. It flew fifteen of them, a mix of 767-200ERs, 767-300s and -300ERs. Boeing 767-300 MSN 25876 (Line Number 478) was delivered to Air China as B-2558 in March 1993. The aircraft was stored in early 2012.
