Ethiopian Airlines is the biggest airline in Africa. It was formed in December 1945 and began flying in April 1946 with some Douglas C-47 Skytrains. Ethiopean Airlines is based at Addis Abeba Bole International Airport. It has a large network of passenger services, but is also an important cargo carrier. The airline currently operates a fleet of around 130 aircraft, including several widebody types: the Boeing 767, 777 and 787, and the Airbus A350. In the past, the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 was also part of the fleet.
Ethiopian Airlines operated a total of eightteen Boeing 767s of several versions, of which three are still in service in 2022. Boeing 767-300ER MSN 33768 (Line Number 922) was delivered to Ethiopian Airlines as ET-ALO in June 2004. It was later painted in the Star Alliance livery. In September 2021 it was stored awaiting conversion into freighter.
